1- Situation:
In its talent development programs, CNH Industrial’s (CE Segment) HR department identified the need to enhance their global innovation teams with key skills in:
- Adaptive Project Management: Mastering the ability to manage projects effectively in complex and evolving environments.
- Intercultural Collaboration: Enhancing collaboration and communication skills within diverse, multicultural teams.
- Leadership and Self-Direction: Developing leadership capabilities, autonomy, and self-direction to drive innovation and performance.
2- Process
Innovate Better: Our Action Learning Programme
1. Strategize Better:
Teams begin by analyzing elements beyond their control within their projects. They develop adaptive strategies by identifying and challenging their assumptions and mental models. Participants also map out key stakeholders and factors influencing their projects to create targeted engagement strategies.
2. Collaborate Better:
Teams assess their own cultural biases and examine how these affect interactions with others. They explore their organizational culture and core values, aimed to improve cross-cultural collaboration and a deeper understanding of team dynamics.
3. Lead Better:
Participants enhance their leadership skills by exploring different power dynamics in their work relationships. They engage in practical exercises to develop soft skills such as trust-building and generative listening, fostering greater self-awareness and proactive leadership.
Each component is delivered through hands-on, practice-based methods that address real-world project challenges, minimizing theoretical content to focus on directly applicable skills.
3- Results
Based on the participants feedback, the main learnings obtained from the program include:
- Development of Power Skills: Enhanced abilities in key leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Exposure to Leadership: Gained insights and practical experience in developing a sense of self-direction.
- Networking Opportunities: Build meaningful connections with colleagues from different regions.
- Increased Sense of Belonging: Fostered a greater sense of inclusion and contribution to the organization’s future.
